“Hello, you Princess Lucrezia aren’t you?”

The piebald princess tilted her head and narrowed her eyes in speculation at the other filly now standing before her. She had a nicely golden coat, and would for sure grow into a graceful little doe. Her parents were probably already planning who she would be the ideal mate to and what perfect little fawns they will have… Despite being a flawless looking lady, she was definitely not like the others, she seemed to be…missing something. Maybe it was the lack of a sinister gleam in her eyes or the cutting malice on her tongue that the other fillies always came with. Even at the tender age of three, they still had enough weaponry built up that could probably bring a warrior to their knees and in tears. They didn’t need sharp antlers to do that, just the deadly words to tear down another's spirit. Even if this filly didn’t seem to carry such ammunition, Lu didn’t trust her, for all she knew this could be just another one of their nasty tricks that they perfected.

Still, Lu just gave a curt nod, not deigning to give an actual answer. Rude maybe, but Lu could not find the patience to reply to such a silly question. Of course she was Princess Lucrezia, it was not like there was another white patched, mess up of a princess walking around.

The filly smiled at the motion and continued on, much to Lucrezia’s dismay. “Good! I am Lady Amara, incase you didn’t know.”

Lu just simply shrugged, family lineages were not her strongest subject in her lessons, so she had no idea were Lady Amara laid on the large family tree and what important family she belonged too. However what Lu did know was that this filly was probably risking getting in trouble by just talking to her. Carefully looking around, Lu eyed the glade for any royals or even the nasty gossiping fillies, that would surely go running to tell their parents on this filly hanging out with such filth. It would only be time that this filly would regret ever stepping a hoof towards the piebald princess, much less giving her a kind glance.

“You should go…” Lu replied quietly, shifting her laying position so that her shoulder and back now faced the filly. To most this would have been an easy tell tale sign to go away, but Lu had to admit that this one was persistent as soon enough the filly crept around to face her again and plopped right down before her.

“Why? There is no reason why I should go!”

Lucrezia looked at her with a look of disbelief, did this filly live under a rock, did her mother not drill the fear and disgust of being near such taint as her into this filly’s head? A giggling from the doe made Lu drop her already folded ears lower, making them look as if they folded all the way down. More laughter erupted from Lady Amara, making Lu’s frown crease deeper as she glared down at the now near rolling filly.

“Why are you laughing?! Don’t you know I’m tainted? So no good for the likes of you!” Lu snapped, curling her tail around herself protectively. She didn’t liked being laughed at, even though she didn’t know what at all this nutcase was was even laughing at!

Noticing Lu’s discomfort, the filly seemed to sober up a bit. “I’m sorry, I just.. really like your ears. There funny looking, but they are….” She paused as if trying to pick just the right word. “Unique. Just like your white markings!”

Shocked, Lu just watched as the filly scoot closer, looking at her unique markings with interest in her eyes, before lowering her nose gently to trace them. Lu flinched at her touch and flicked her tail up so that her hair covered the leg she was looking at. Lu guessed that was one good thing that her long curtain of a tail provided, the agility to hide herself under it.

“You know, you shouldn’t be shamed about them.”

“Says the filly, who has nothing to be ashamed about! Your perfect…” Lu muttered, before quickly rising to her feet. She wasn’t sure about this filly, it all felt off. Why was she kind? Why did she linger around Lu if she knew she was tainted?! These were all questions that Lu obviously needed mother’s help to answer, because the fact that a lady may want to actually becomes friends with her seemed to outlandish to believe.

“I need to.. uh.. go…” Lu murmured out awkwardly before turning away in a swirl of hair as her tail flickered around her, but before she left she stopped dead in her tracks at the fillies words.

“Don't go, please! I am not perfect, I am tainted too.”

Lu looked back skeptically, not quite sure if she should believe her, for more questions just popped up. How could she be tainted? She seemed like everything a Glenmore would want in a filly. At her questionable look the filly started up again to explain.

“Er..” It was the first time the filly seemed nervous to say something so Lu turned back towards her more attentively. This seemed to please the filly enough that she continued on in a low hushed voice. “My mother, you see, is a lady, but she displeased my lord father one time… He got angery, and turned the herd against us….”Her eyes wetted with tears that threatened to spill and her voice choked up with emotion. Such a contrast to the happy filly the Lu saw just moments ago. Shifting her weight form foot to foot, Lu watched and listened to her cautiously, pretending not to notice the fillies pain. She was not very comfortable in these situations with someone she was not sure of, but she won’t allow herself to just walk away from this crying lady, like so many have done with her.

“You see, he spread rumours that she was disloyal with him and was seeking out company with a Blackwood! Of course there was nothing she could say against a lord, besides the damage was already done, so we both were shunned by our family.” She took a breath and blinked her pooling tears away, determined to not let them fall. Lu admirably nodded her head at that, she too had reached a point were she no longer would allow her tears to fall. She would not give her bullies the satisfaction of knowing that they caused them.

“I am sorry, I used to love my lord father. Used to miss him everyday after that and even cursed my mother for causing it… Selfish I know.” She said quietly at Lu look of disapproval. “I am not even sure I am telling you all this, you probably think I am a whiny brat after the things you probably go through.”

Lurcrezia tilted her head at this confession from the filly. This had taken a completely unsuspecting turn that she had not been prepared for. She wasn’t even sure what exactly to think about this, but she guessed she felt sorry for the filly. It was one thing to never have the taste of being loved by society as Lu had always known hatred by the herd and her father from the day she was born, but this filly had been adored by her father, by the herd, and probably had much potential for her future. Then that suddenly poofed away after her father ruined everything. She was betrayed by her father, at least Lu’s father made it clear he hated her from the get go… Something that she never thought she would appreciative of. Perhaps it was better to always be hated then know love from that person only for it to be ripped away later, least it saves you the pain of the memories.

“I’m sorry that this happened to you… And, I don’t think you are a brat, just… Unique.” Lu said simply with a small smile. The filly returned it with on her own smiles, but Lu now seen the sadness that still lined her features. Looking over the filly once more, Lu nodded once and than twice before motioning for the filly to follow her. “Okay, I’ll give you a chance.” She voiced with determination. She never had friend who was a filly before, she only had Mordred and Ollokot, but perhaps this one will fit in as well over time.

The filly seemed to beam at the words, “Does that mean we are friends?”

“Not quite… You will have to catch me first!”

Lucrezia bounded away, hair flying past her. She obviously was not a normal princess in colour but that also expanded to her raising. With father not wanting anything to do with her and mama giving her to have more of a free reign. She was allowed to run and play more so than other traditional princesses. Only her guards stood in her way, and right now she had her favourite guard who permitted her to play how she wanted.

"Lady's don't run though!" Amara called out behind her, her training lessons probably nagging in her ear.

"But your a tainted lady now!" With a mishief smile, the filly nodded slowly before leaping after Lu.
